Located in Waitsfield, Yestermorrow Design/Build School is a classic example of adaptive re-use – Yestermorrow staff, students and faculty have transformed a former inn into a multi-use space with nearly 10,000 square feet of classrooms, dormitories, administrative offices, woodshop, kitchen and dining facilities. This inspiring home designed by Pill-Maharam Architects was designed and detailed so that the building envelope’s complex geometry could be constructed with simple conventional methods while still maximizing thermal efficiency and passive solar gain.
